The City has retained Benchmark Planning to help prepare a Downtown Master Plan to guide the growth and development of downtown over the next 5 to 10 years. The downtown is home to local art, live music, abundant shopping, local wine, craft brews, and authentic dining experiences. The Plan, adopted in September 2022, has established a vision for a new Main Street streetscape, connection to the planned convention and conference center, the development of approximately 200 housing units, a wayfinding system, tourism and entertainment opportunities, a complete street transformation for major roads bounding downtown, and expected return on investment calculations and projects for proposed private development sites.
